Sa cover story ng YES! magazine, January 2008 issue, page 82, paragraphs 6 and 7 sa last column, nakalagay ang ganito:

“Marian admits that, before making it in show business, she had already been through three relationships. Her third boyfriend, an athlete who plays baseball for the Philippine national team, was the longest and the most serious relationship she has had so far.

“‘Six years kami,’” she smiles, without giving us the guy’s name. ‘Ever since third year high school pa lang ako, kilala na niya ako. Hanggang nag-college ako, siya ‘yong boyfriend ko.’”

Mga November 2007 nang ma-interview si Marian ng YES!, ayon kay Anna Pingol, ang associate editor ng magazine. At nang mga panahon na yun, famously loveless—to quote YES!—si Marian. At ang dahilan: ang pagiging napaka-busy niya sa trabaho.

“Hindi na nga ako natutulog, paano pa ako magbo-boyfriend?” natatawang banggit noon ni Marian.
