Both of them may be tracking different career paths nowadays but Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes still have that “stick together” factor in their personal lives, especially with regards to birthdays (Dingdong ’s birthday is on August 2; Marian, August 12). Last year was awesome as Marian and Dingdong jointly celebrated their birthdays with a concert that emphasized the word “happy” in “happy birthday.”

How they’ll be celebrating this year is still unclear, but the two stars do already know what cool birthday presents they’ll be giving each other. “Matagal ko nang pinaghandaan!” beamed Dingdong when Startalk egged him on about his present for Marian. “So, ibibigay ko na lang sa mismong kaarawan. Bagay siya. Kung ano man, it would be valuable! Sinusuot naman.”

Marian, on her part, said that Dingdong really isn’t materialistic and the most simple things done for him will be special in his eyes. “Ipagluto mo nga lang yun, happy na, e! Hindi naman nababase din sa regalo ang ikaliligaya ng isang tao,” she said.

Marian Rivera is set to be the leading lady of Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao in the upcoming GMA sitcom called “Show Me The Manny.”

Ms. Wilma Galvante, SVP for Entertainment TV of GMA-7, revealed that Manny Pacquiao will team up with Marian Rivera in the upcoming sitcom “Show Me The Manny!”

It’s been a while since GMA had a new sitcom and the Manny and Marian starrer is a refreshing addition to their programming. Show Me The Manny is going to be a once a week program that could either be shown on a Saturday or a Sunday night.

Barely a week of taping for her new GMA-7 primetime series, Marian is already compared to all the actresses who have played Darna especially Angel Locsin, who wasn’t only the most recent actress to tackle the super heroine but was the most popular as her “Darna” series was a primetime phenomenal hit at GMA-7.

For the star of “Mari Mar” and “Dyesebel,” such comparison issues do not affect her as an actress because she is too focused on her new role.

“I believe that people have different tastes. I also believe that the management won’t give me this project if they don’t believe I could pull it off. I’m already thankful that I was given the role of Darna,” expressed Marian in Filipino during an intimate get together with the entertainment press last Thursday at Annabel’s in Tomas Morato.
